SYNESTHESIA
Coord: Claudia Fischer
SYNESTHESIA aims to explore the multiple relations between particular art forms (mainly music, visual arts and literature), as well as to reflect on art in general and aesthetics. Its main goal is to create tools for the research in this field and to analyze objects where literature and other arts are intentionally related, either by combination, by contamination or by dialogue.
Objectives
- Publishing articles and organizing colloquia focusing on different types of interaction and interdisciplinary objects.
- Strengthening the links between research and teaching, by organizing events associated with taught contents and involving the active participation of students.
- Extending research results to outside academia and establishing contacts with other cultural and educational institutions.
- Promoting meetings and debates to produce original theories around contemporary performing and participatory arts, and especially in emerging, minority, alternative and peripheral arts.
- Developing new methodologies for research, dissemination and collaboration, especially regarding ephemeral, variable, collaborative and site-specific processes that tend to be neglected.
