Jonas Prinzleve holds an MA in Postcolonial Culture and Global Policy from Goldsmiths, University of London (2017). Since 2018/19, he is a PhD candidate in the International PhD Programme in Comparative Studies (PhD-COMP) at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon (FLUL), where he develops the research project A decolonial turn in public memory? Hamburg and Lisbon compared with an FCT Doctoral Grant. At the Centre for Comparative Studies (CEComp) he is a member of the FCT-funded research project “Constellations of Memory: A Multidirectional Study of Migration and Postcolonial Memory” (PTDC/SOC-ANT/4292/2021). In 2022, he became an international fellow at the Frankfurt Memory Studies Platform at the Goethe University Frankfurt. Since 2019, he has been appointed to the Advisory Board on the Decolonisation of Hamburg by the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media. He is an author of the digital project ReMapping Memories Lisboa- Hamburg that is hosted by the Goethe Institute of Lisbon. In addition, he is the co-organizer, with Morgane Delaunay, of the seminar cycle Memory, Culture and Citizenship in Post-Colonial Nations in the framework of the Research Line Legacies of Empire and Colonialism in Comparative Perspective.
