Lisboa Afro-Atlântica

The Permanent Seminar of the project Lisboa, Cidade Afro-Atlântica (Lisbon, Afro-Atlantic City), based at CEComp/FLUL, aims to foster interdisciplinary and diachronic dialogues on the ways of reading, writing, and living an urban space that has been historically shaped also by African presence and by the conflictual relations with Africa. Likewise, the sessions of the Permanent Seminar are intended as moments of reflection on the persistence, in contemporary urban contexts, of the strategies and hierarchies of power that defined Atlantic colonial modernity.
