Joana Matos Frias (PhD Knowledge in Literature, FLUP, 2006) is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Romance Literatures at the University of Lisbon School of Arts and Humanities, where she teaches Theory of Literature, Contemporary Portuguese Literature and Interart Studies, among other graduate and undergraduate disciplines. She has been a Visiting Professor at several foreign universities, especially in Brazil, including the University of São Paulo (USP), the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). On Erasmus mobility, she has taught at universities such as the Freie Universität (Berlin) and the Univerzita Karlova (Prague). She was a member of the Board of the Margarida Losa Institute of Comparative Literature, with which she collaborates regularly. She is currently deputy director of the Center for Comparative Studies.
