Ana Bela Morais is a researcher at the Centre for Comparative Studies, where she coordinates the LOCUS - Spaces, Places, Landscapes Group. She is an integrated member of the DIIA Subgroup - Iberian and Iberoamerican Dialogues, where is responsible for the research line "Censorship systems in the visual and performing arts of the Iberian Peninsula in the 20th and 21st centuries", in which her research project "Censorship and Cinema in the Iberian Space, from 1968 to the present day" is integrated. She is co-teacher of the MA/PhD Seminar Topics in Comparative Studies II - "Times and Spaces in Portuguese Cinema", in the Comparative Studies Programme of the FLUL. She also teaches History of Cinema, Cinema and Literature and collaborates in the lecturing of Critical Exercises on Contemporary Culture. She has a PhD in Cultural Studies on the theme of violence and identity in cinema in the transition from the 20th to the 21st century at the FLUL.
