Vanessa Montesi holds a PhD in comparative studies from the University of Lisbon (PhDCOMP), in collaboration with the universities of Bologna (Italy) and KU Leuven (Belgium). She is a member of the Center for Comparative Studies of the University of Lisbon, where she collaborates with the group Synestesia (THELEME). She’s been part of the research group Dramaturgical Ecologies, based at Concordia University, Canada (2020-2022). She’s been a visiting fellow at KU Leuven (2018), Newcastle University (2020) and an intern at Concordia University (2020). Her research is focused on intermediality, with special attention for intermedial translation into dance performance. To complete her research, she worked alongside dance companies Eliot Smith Dance (Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK) and Marie Chouinard (Montreal, Canada).
