Yawen Chu, a Ph.D. student in Culture Studies at the University of Lisbon, is part of the CITCOM research group at CEComp, in the research cluster Citizenship, Media and Cultural Production. With a master's in media and communication from Sweden and a Bachelor’s in Broadcasting from China, she has a rich educational background. Fluent in Mandarin, English, and Swedish, Yawen’s linguistic skills enrich her cultural research. Her main research interests lie in LGBTQ+ issues, feminism, and media, underscoring her commitment to these social discourses.
Additionally, Yawen is intrigued by the potential of Artificial Intelligence in cultural studies, especially in exploring gender and sexuality. Her work integrates AI with traditional academic fields, reflecting a dedication to understanding complex social issues. As she progresses academically, Yawen aims to offer valuable insights and promote inclusivity and understanding in society through her interdisciplinary research.
