Elisa Mariotti is a PhD student at the Centre for Comparative Studies of the University of Lisbon. She holds a degree in Languages, Civilizations and Sciences of Language from Ca' Foscari University of Venice (2018) and a master’s degree in American, European and Postcolonial Languages and Literature from Ca' Foscari University of Venice (2021), with a thesis entitled "Um olhar contemporâneo sobre a questão indígena: diálogo entre Macunaíma e a narração antropológica pós-estruturalista", supervised by Prof. Vanessa Castagna. She carried out a post-master’s extracurricular internship (Erasmus +, 2021) at the Centre for Comparative Studies of the Faculty of Letters of Lisbon, within the scope of the MOV research project - Bodies in Movement: Circulations, Narratives and Archives in Translation (LOCUS, CEC), under the tutelage of Professor Marta Pacheco Pinto. She was admitted to the International Program of Comparative Studies (FLUL, 2021/2022), with a research project focused on the formation of hybrid identities, with a focus on the African colonial and post-colonial/metropolitan Portuguese context, based on contemporary Portuguese literature and anthropology, supervised by Professor Elsa Peralta. She is a member of the CITCOM group and of the Research line Legacies of Empire and Colonialism in Comparative Perspective.
