Colombian Literature Conference
5–6 November 2025 | Auditorium 3, FLUL
On the afternoons of November 5 and 6, 2025, the First Colombian Literature Meeting in Portugal will take place. This event is a joint initiative of the Embassy of Colombia in Portugal, the OEI – Organization of Ibero-American States, the José Saramago Foundation, and the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, through the Centre for Comparative Studies (research subgroup DIIA – Iberian and Ibero-American Dialogues).
The session on November 5 will feature a conversation with writer Laura Restrepo about her most recent novel Soy la daga y soy la herida, followed by the screening of the short film Casas Errantes.
On November 6, Nicolás Barbosa (University of Los Andes) will deliver the lecture “Ghosts and Parricides: Women in Contemporary Colombian Literature”, and artists Lauren Mendinueta and Andrea Valencia will discuss the Colombian diaspora in Portugal.
